A'Ibom govt advocates for conflicts resolution

Akwa Ibom State government in its attempt to ensure peaceful co-existence within communities, and families has strengthening its strategy to combat all the perceived conflicts in the state.
The wife of the governor, Mrs. Akpabio made this known at a two day seminar on the resolution of family / domestic conflict organized by the centre for alternative dispute resolution held at the governor's office annex. Uyo.
The wife of the governor who was represented by the speaker's wife, Mrs Ini-mbom Ignatius Edet said they should understand the government is serious over the issue of this seminar and should give meaningful contribution to finally put an end to this menace in our society. While government would put effective work force in place to assist and address it properly for peace to reign in our state.
She said the centre for alternative dispute resolution should not relent in their effect to their perform responsibilities because the people are seriously counting on them while seeing them as true messiah for those who are victimized. While thanking the royal fathers for their understanding during the deliberation without any disagreement to soft the problem in our society.
The Director, Akwa Ibom Multi-Door court house, Barr. (Mrs.) Theresa Isidore Obot said the grassroots are really affected by the influence of traditional beliefs which has seriously increased the suffering of individuals of their rights due to poverty and frustration. While the organization has addressed lot of matters and by rehabilitating the people and ensuring peace among them which many can testify without any crisis.
Adding that the association will not relent in their effort to have a better society despite the circumstances facing them.
The director said despite their activities and programmes they should always understand that conflicts is a natural, and necessary part of our life whether at home with our families, at work, with colleagues or in negotiation between government. It pervades our relationship while it can force and tear relationship apart and forces that binded them together to have peaceful environment.
She said the centre is the creation of the Akwa Ibom State Government with a mandate to provide free legal services and advice to residents in the state in the line with its policy to access the justice and enabling law of the centre in the Akwa Ibom State.
The centre for alternative dispute resolution established by Law, 2007, and made up of dedicated, hardworking legal team of law officers and well trained supporting staff. We also partner with dedicated civil society groups and international bodies to enable us extend our service without any discrimination as far as justice is concerned, she said.
The NATPIP INVESTIGATION OFFICER, Mrs. Rose Bassey said the programmes would have impact in Akwa Ibom people where individual would have full idea, enlightenment, education on conflict and how to tackle it successfully without any crisis, adding that the people should deliver the message immediately to add value to their subjects.
Mrs Rose Bassey said they should not fail to adopt the message presented to them because it would go a long way in fighting against the issue while understand they are also throwing their weight to make sure Akwa Ibom becomes the most peaceful state in the nation.
