Amaechi commissions lawmaker's project in Ogu

The Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, represented by Senator George Sekibo has commissioned a Civic Arena at Ogu in the State.
Gov. Amaechi advised lawmakers to ensure that they execute their constituency projects noting that it was a means of developing their various constituencies.
He described the project as excellent, urging others to emulate the legislator, Hon. Maureen Tamuno.
Hon. Maureen Tamuno, who is representing Ogu/Bolo Constituency said she decided to build the arena as one of her constituency projects.
“This is one of my constituency projects”, noting that the civic arena was nominated in the bridget and thanked contractors for a good job.
“My choice of this project is based on the fact that in our place, it is surrounded by water and I looked at the area that would be conducive for this kind of project where activities could be held”, Hon. Tamuno said.
She urged the people to ensure that the civic arena was kept clean at all times.
The lawmaker, who earlier paid a courtesy call to the Amanyanabo and his council of chiefs said, “I remember a year ago, when I visited this palace, I had a proposal in mind which I disclosed it to you people.  You all agreed and provided land for me to go ahead.  I am here to inform you that the project has being executed and would be commissioned today”.
Speaking on behalf of the Amanyanabo of Ogu, Chief Emmanuel M. Ibiorika said “we the Chiefs have seen changes in this present dispensation”, adding that they were thankful for a successful project sited in the area.
Senator George Sekibo, thanked the people of Ogu/Bolo for giving Hon. Tamuno the chance to serve, noting that the lawmaker had made them proud.
He thanked the Rivers State government for the on-going projects in Ogu/Bolo and the state at large.
The PDP Woman leader in the area, Mrs. F. O. Iyama said, “As a woman, I am happy to identify with this project” and recalled how Hon. Tamuno during her electoral campaigns made promises and were being fulfilled.
The chairman of Ogu/Bolo LGA, Hon Lawrence Abiebari, who was represented by the council secretary, described the project as a success.
“Today our sister has lifted the face of Ogu”, he said, noting that she has really represented them well by keeping to her words.
The PDP Chairman in the area said the project has being accomplished, “we are happy and place our vote of confidence on her”.
The chairman, Ogu/Bolo Council of Chiefs said, the dream of Ogu has come through, adding that Hon. Tamuno has performed beyond expectation.
