Esit Eket declares support to Akpabio

he people of Esit Eket local government area have declared their total support to the administration of Chief (Dr.) Godswill Akpabio and have resolved to support him to a second term in office in 2011.
The Executive Chairman of Esit Eket Local Government, Pastor Victor Bassey Isangedighi speaking on behalf of the people of the area, told reporters last weekend that Esit Eket has resolved to support Governor Akpabio following his wealth of achievements in two years as Governor of the State.
The Chairman poured encomiums on the Governor for the speed he had taken to transform Akwa Ibom State in the area of infrastructural developments, rehabilitation of roads, Akwa Ibom International Airport project, Independent Power Plant (IPP), construction of Flyover at Itam Junction, construction of State Digital Library Complex, construction of magnificent and befitting Governor’s Lodge in Uyo, man-power development among other achievements and most especially the free and compulsory education.
Pastor Isangedighe said Esit Eket people were happy because apart from embarking on people-oriented projects in the area, Governor Akpabio has appointed indigenes of the area into significant positions of responsibilities in the polity.
He lauded the recommendation of Chief (Barr) Bassey Dan-Abia and Architect Esoetuk I. Ette to Mr. President Alhaji Umaru Musa Yar’Adua for appointment into the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) as Commissioner and Executive Director respectively.
He also commended the Governor for the recent elevation and subsequent swearing-in of Mr Imo Udobia into the State Executive Council as the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, and the appointment of Prince Ibanga Etang as his Special Assistant on Projects Monitoring.
Pastor Isangedighi said he had no doubt about the ability of the appointees as Esit Eket people have always justified their billings. He acknowledged the effective and dynamic contributions of the member representing Eket Federal Constituency at the National Assembly – Hon. Eseme Eyibio and Mr. Okpolupm Ette, Chief-Whip and member representing Esit Eket/Ibeno  in the Akwa Ibom State House  of Assembly.
In the same spirit, Pastor Isangedighe also lauded all the appointees and wished them success in their meritorious assignments. He urged the appointees and the elected members from the constituency to continue to unite to attract more dividends of democracy to the area.
