Father throws sick daughter into pit
If wonders on earth will not cease as long as humans are bent on doing evil, then the behaviour of a 74- year-old father should surprise many.
The septuagenarian (name withheld) was said to have thrown his 22 year -old sick into a borrow pit at Rumukpakani in Obio/Akpor local government area of the state.
Some of the residents along the area that heard of the devilish act wondered what must have caused the father to carry out the barbaric act.
Others had blamed the action of the father to outside influence, noting that a father who loves his daughter no matter the condition could do such.
Sources told Midweek Telegraph that the girl has been sick for five years before her life was brought to an end abruptly.
On January 3, 2010, the father who apparently became worried of his daughter's health condition decided to throw her into the pit.
Following this bastardly act, the daughter died instantly, but eye witnesses who saw the father immediately contacted the police and he was arrested.
The police confirmed the story and informed this publication that the father would soon appear in court while the corpse of the daughter has been deposited in an undisclosed mortuary.
